The Mountain Rose will feature a unique collaboration with the Arboretum at Flagstaff, establishing a publicly accessible garden dedicated to the cultivation and appreciation of tea plants. This space will be divided into two distinct gardens: the Native Tea Garden and the English Tea Garden, each offering educational and cultural experiences
native tea garden
Designed to celebrate the rich botanical heritage of the Southwest, the Native Tea Garden will showcase medicinal and culinary plants indigenous to Northern Arizona. This garden will highlight plants historically used by Indigenous communities, emphasizing their ecological importance and traditional applications. Interpretive signage and guided tours will provide insights into sustainable harvesting, plant lore, and contemporary conservation efforts.
english tea garden
Inspired by the landscape in which Shakespeare grew up, the English Tea Garden will feature traditional tea plants compatible with Flagstaff’s climate. This space will serve as both a tranquil retreat and an educational hub.
This collaboration with the Arboretum not only enhances local biodiversity and conservation efforts, but also fosters cross-cultural appreciation through the universal ritual of tea.
